Country star Dierks Bentley is a proud new dad, PEOPLE has learned exclusively.
Bentley, 32, and wife Cassidy, 33, welcomed their first child, Evalyn Day Bentley, just before midnight on Saturday at a hospital in Nashville, where the Bentleys live.
The new arrival weighed 7 lbs., 10 oz., and the happy parents say they'll call her "Evie."
Bentley's publicist says the "Trying to Stop Your Leaving" singer – who announced his wife's pregnancy in May ("Cass's eggo is preggo!" he blogged) – is overjoyed by the prospect of fatherhood.
"She is the most beautiful little girl you have ever seen," Bentley told the rep. "Cass did great, and I'm so happy!"
Bentley met his future wife when she was Cassidy Black – and they were both in the eighth grade at middle school in Phoenix, the singer's hometown.
