Crochet Corner Bookmark
http://www.allfreecrafts.com/crochet/images/crochet-bookmark.jpg
وهذا شكل ثاني تثبتيه زي ما شايفه في زاويه ورقه الكتاب
What you will need:
Small amount of cotton crochet thread
Smallest steel hook (Mine didn't have a number on it, but I think it is a #12
Ready:
الباترون
(Make 2)
Row 1-Ch 4, 3 dc in 4th ch from hook, turn.
Row 2-Ch 3, dc in same stitch, 2 dc in each of the next three stitches, turn.
Rows 3 thru 5- Ch 3, dc in same stitch, dc in each stitch across with 2 dc in last stitch, turn.
Row 6- Ch 3, dc in same stitch, 2 dc in next stitch, dc in next 10 stitches, 2 dc in each of the last 2 stitches, turn.
Row 7-Ch 3, dc in same stitch, 2 dc in next stitch, dc in next 7 stitches, 2 dc in next stitch, dc in next 6 stitches, 2 dc in each of the last 2 stitches, turn.
Row 8- Ch 4, skip next stitch, sc in next stitch, (ch 3, skip next stitch, sc in next stitch) across. Fasten off.
Hold wrong sides together, match the stitches, going thru both sides, join with sc in end of row 7, sc in the end of the same row, 2 sc in each of next 6 rows, 3 sc in corner, 2 sc in each of the next 7 rows. Fasten off.
Tassel:
Cut 2- 6 inch strand of thread, set aside.
Wrap some cotton thread around your 4 fingers about 10 times starting with thread down and ending with end down. Take one 6 inch strand and run it thru your finger and knot off at the top loops. Take the strands off your fingers and cut bottom loops. Take the last 6 inch strand and fold it in half and tie around one third from the top. Cut any extra threads. Attach to top corner of your corner bookmark. Make lots of these fast bookmarks. I always have several pages marked in craft books. I usually use paper slips to mark pages but they always fall out - these crochet bookmarks tend to stay where I put them! Enjoy!

MATERIALS:
Hook: Size C
Yarn: #10 Bedspread Cotton
Stitches used: ch, sl st, sc, dc.
Difficulty: EASY
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
NOTE: This pattern is worked around the foundation chain.
STEP 1: Ch 42, Sc in 2nd ch from hk, * sk next 2 ch, (dc, ch 1, dc, ch 1, dc) in next ch, sk next 2 ch, sc in next ch. Repeat from * across to last ch. Sc in last ch.
Note: Each (dc, ch 1, dc, ch 1, dc) looks like half of a wagon wheel.
STEP 2: Working back up the other side of the foundation chain, * (dc, ch 1, dc, ch 1, dc) in the center of the first 1/2 wagon wheel. Sc in same sp as first sc on opposite side. Repeat from * across.
After completing the last wheel, sl st in last st at the end of the bookmark.
FASTEN OFF
WEAVE IN ENDS AND ADD A TASSEL IF DESIRED.
TASSEL:
Step 1: Cut a piece of cardboard that is about 3-4 inches long. Wrap the yarn around the cardboard about 20 times (more for a fuller tassel). Cut the yarn so you have 20 separate pieces.
Step 2: Cut another piece of yarn and wrap it around the middle of the 20 strands and tie a knot.
Step 3: Pull both ends of the strand used to tie the middle through the end of the bookmark and wrap each end in opposite directions just above the top of the tassel, then secure it with another knot.
Step 4: Wrap another strand of yarn around the top of the tassel about 1/4-1/2" from the top of the tassel and tie a knot. Using a small crochet hook, pull those strands down through the middle of the tassel

Hook: Steel Size 7
#10 Bedspread Wt. Cotton
Stitches used: ch, sl st, sc, hdc, dc, ldc, tr.
ldc = Long Double Crochet... you work a regular crochet stitch
in a row other than the normal working row.
In this case it's the space where you placed all the treble stitches.
Difficulty: EASY/MEDIUM
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
NOTE: Pattern is worked one heart at a time and then the border is added.

Working in the remaining unworked lps of the foundation chain, work identical stitches opposite each as follows: (1dc + 4tr) in the unworked loop opposite the (4tr + 1dc); 2 dc in the unworked lp opposite the 2dc previously made; hdc in the unworked lp opposite the hdc; sc in the unworked lp opposite the sc. Now slip stitch at the point of the heart.
Repeat from * 4 more times. Do not turn piece and keep the hearts all turned with right side facing.
BORDER
RND 1: Ch 10, sc in 3rd tr on same heart. * Ch 6, sc in 3rd tr of next heart. Rep from * 3 more times. Ch 10, ldc in center space (this is the same space where the tr stitches were placed). RND 2: Work (4 sc, ch 2, 5 sc) in next ch 10 sp. * Sc in sc, 5 sc in next ch 6 sp. Rep from * 3 more times. (2 sc, ch 2, 4 sc) in next ch 10 sp. Sc in ldc. (4sc, ch 2, 2 sc) in next ch 10 sp. * sc in sc, 5 sc in next ch 6 sp. Rep from * 3 more times. (5 sc, ch 2, 4 sc) in next ch 10 sp. Join with sl st. Do Not Turn.
RND 3: * Ch 3, sk next st, sc in next st. Rep from * around. Join with sl st.
FASTEN OFF
FRINGE: Wrap thread around 4 fingers 10 times. Cut strands. Attach to the top of the bookmark. Insert hook in the top of the bookmark. Fold strands of thread in half. With right side facing, and using the hook, draw the folded ends of the yarn up through the sp and pull the loose ends through the folded end. This completes the fringe and all you need to do is tighten up the knot by pulling on the strands of thread.

Here comes the pattern.
I drew 3 figures to illustrate how the bookmark is made.
http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1295/1249025834_efa4d41d1f.jpg
Fig. (A) Pattern of the bookmark edges. Start at the point of the blue triangle
http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1040/1238277695_921edf1da1.jpg
Fig. (B): Filet design for the alphabet
The first two figures are probably enough for experienced crocheter who can read the chart, but I would still write down some brief descriptions.
Filet:
R1: ch 17, dc in the 7th lp from the hook, (ch 2, dc)x10, ch 2, treble stitch in the same last lp
R2-4: ch 5, turn, dc in the dc, ….continue with filet designs….ch 2, dc
R5: ch4, dc in the dc in previous row, (ch2, dc)x10, ch 4, sl st in the loop of previous row.
R6: sc across the edge. 3 sc in every grid and 5 sc on the 4 corners. sl st at the end
Do NOT fasten off here
Edge:
R1: ch 4, * double treble stitch on the center (the 5th sc in the previous row) of grids, ch 4, dc in the middle of the double treble stitch, ch 4, dc in the same point, ch3, sc to the 9th sc. (ch 3, skip one sc, sc in the next sc)x3, (sc 3, ch 2)x5, sc 3, (ch 3, skip one sc, sc in the next sc)x3, ch 3, repeat from *, sl st to the beginning of this row
R2: ch 3, *dc 3 in the loop, dc 6 in the 3 chains, ch 7, dc 6 in the 4 chains, dc4 in the next chains, sc in the 3 ch loop; (ch 3, skip one sc, sc in the next sc)x3, (dc in the first sc and the 4th sc at the same time, ch 2, 4 dc decrease, ch 2) x 5, ch 2, dc in the two sc at the same time, (ch 3, sc in the loop) x3, ch 3, dc in the loop, repeat from *
Fasten off.
http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1360/1248143143_de5f894f40.jpg
Fig. (C): various filet units
As for the filet, you simply need to fill the grids with dc’s. The brown grid (c.1.) refers to dc 3 across and the white one is dc, ch 2, dc. All the rest special units can be substituted with the first one without screwing the letters. I really don’t know how to describe these units.
This pattern is quite intuitive. I still prefer the drawing method for crochet patterns. Let me know if there is anything unclear.
